Workplace Accusations-what should I do?

     It can be quite unpleasant--and confusing--to be the target of an investigation at work. Your employer may not be willing to tell you precisely what you allegedly did wrong, but you may find yourself on administrative leave as if you've already been found guilty of whatever it is, and warned about not talking to anyone, not trying to access or delete any files, and staying away from potential witnesses. It may be tempting to quit rather than face a lot of uncomfortable questions, but that's not the best response. It won't stop the investigation, anyway, which will probably go on with or without your cooperation.
